Content of Emeset 8mg Tablet
 Emeset 8 mg tablet contains the generic medicine of Ondansetron HCL.Ondansetron HCL is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor blocker that is used as an antiemetic to control the nausea and vomiting by blocking a chemical (serotonin) in the body which are responsible for triggering vomiting and nausea.

Usage of Emeset Tablets
Preventing nausea and vomiting due to cancer chemotherapy or radiation therapy and after surgery.

Side Effects of Emeset Tablets
The possible side effects of Emeset Tablets are ,
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Headache
  • Irritation
  • Redness, pain or burning at the site of injection
  • Tiredness
If you experience any of the following events STOP taking your medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
  • Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)
  •  Chest pain
  •  Fever
  • Skin tingling or numbness
  • Trouble urinating
  • Vision changes or loss
Dosage and Administration of Emeset Tablet
  
Mode of use: Oral
If you are on chemotherapy, recommended dosage of emeset is 24 mg given as three 8-mg tablets administered 30 minutes before your chemotherapy.
If you are on radiation therapy, recommended dosage of emeset is 24 mg given as three 8-mg tablets administered 1-2 hours before your radiotherapy.
If you are going for an operation, recommended dosage of emeset is 16 mg given as two 8 mg Emeset Tablets1 hour before your operation.
 
You may take Ondansetron with or without food.

FDA Pregnancy of Emeset Tablet
 There is no conclusive data available on its safety in pregnancy, especially during the first trimester
