Content of Aten 25 mg tablet

Aten tablet contains Atenolol .It is a selective beta 1 receptor antagonist and belonging to the class of beta blockers.Beta blockers are primarily used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Indications of Aten 25 mg 

  • Angina
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Arrhythmias
  • Hypertension 
  • Migraine prophylaxis

Contraindications of Aten 25 mg

  • Asthma
  • Uncontrolled heart failure
  • Prinzmetal's angina or Variant angina
  • Marked bradycardia
  • Hypotension
  • Sick sinus syndrome
  • Second and third degree atrioventricular block
  • Cardiogenic shock
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Severe peripheral arterial disease 

Precautions of Aten 25 mg

  • Avoid abrupt withdrawal especially in angina;it may worsen heart failure
  • Acute myocardial infraction
  • Thyrotoxicosis
  • Renel diseases
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • History of hypersensitivity reactions
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

  • Nausea
