Dose of Albendazole:
Oral-Adult and child;
Above 2 years :400 mg daily as a single dose.
Child-1 to 2 years :200 mg as a single dose.

  • Echinococcosis ( A tapeworm infection that affect the lungs,liver,brain and other organs)
  • Hookworm infections
  • Strongyloidiasis(It is an infection of the small intestine caused by strongyloides stercoralis)

Adverse drug reactions of Albendazole:
Gastrointestinal disturbances;nausea;dizziness;vertigo;itching;headache;reversible alopecia;leukopenia;stevens-johnson syndrome. 
Drug interactions:
Cimetidine increases albendazole metabolism .Serum levels are increased if taken with dexamethasone.
Contraindications:
Pregnancy & lactation .Neonates ;hypersensitivity;liver impairment
